BADIA

How Badia works

Everything Badia does, and where to find it. The same guide is in the app: tap your avatar on Home → How Badia works.

Your club or crew

Drives, the roster and who’s running it — a club, or just your friends.

Crews

Drive with your friends, no club needed. Plan drives, see each other on the map, and an SOS reaches all of you.

  1. On Home, tap Start a crew.
  2. Name it, then send the link to your group chat. Whoever taps it is in.
  3. Anyone in the crew can plan a drive (Drives → New) and invite more friends (Crew → Invite friends). Up to 50 people.
  4. Whoever started it can rename it, remove people, or end it from the Crew tab.

Join a drive

See what your club is running and take a seat.

  1. Add your ride first: tap your avatar on Home → My rides → Add.
  2. Open a drive from Home or Drives and tap I’m in. Full? You go on the waitlist and move up when a seat opens.
  3. Can’t make it? Tap … → Can’t make it, so the next person gets your seat.
  4. At the meet, tap I’m at the meet.

My rides

Your 4x4, motorbike or bicycle — with a photo and the kit you carry.

  1. Tap your avatar on Home → My rides → Add.
  2. Add a photo so the convoy knows what to look for, and tick your kit: recovery points, compressor, sand tracks.
  3. Marshals see on the roster what a car is missing before the sand. Your main ride is the one you bring to drives.

Alerts

New drives, changed times, a seat opening up — on your lock screen and in the bell.

  1. Allow notifications when Badia asks.
  2. Tap the bell on Home to see everything you’ve missed.
  3. Badia also reminds you the evening before a drive and 90 minutes before the meet.

On a drive

The convoy on one map, and the calls that keep it together.

The convoy map

Everyone on the drive sees everyone else, live, and how far the lead and the sweep are.

  1. On the day, open the drive and tap Join the convoy.
  2. Your drive records as you go. Leave with Convoy options → Leave the convoy.

Calls to the convoy

Stuck, Need help, All good, Soft sand, Regroup — one tap, everyone hears it.

  1. In the convoy, tap a call in the bottom panel, or … for more and for a typed message.
  2. Stuck and Need help reach locked phones too. A marshal taps On my way.
  3. Marshals can broadcast to the whole convoy from Convoy options.

SOS

When someone is in real trouble: an alarm and your position to everyone who can help.

  1. Hold the red SOS button for two seconds — on the map, in the convoy panel or in Drive Mode. A tap does nothing.
  2. On a drive, everyone on it is alerted. Otherwise, your club’s marshals.
  3. You see who’s coming and how far away. Call 999, 998 or 997 from the same screen, or text your emergency contacts.
  4. Tap I’m safe to close it.

Emergency info

Your blood type, allergies and the people to text — seen only while your SOS is open.

  1. Tap your avatar on Home → Emergency info.
  2. Add up to five contacts. Your SOS texts them your location.

Drive Mode

Big speed, heading and distance you can read on a bumpy dash.

  1. On the map, tap the speed panel.
  2. Tap ✕ to go back to the map.

Finding your way

Off-road there are no roads to follow. Badia points you there.

Where to?

Paste a Google Maps link, a WhatsApp location or coordinates — and go.

  1. On the map, tap the magnifier → Where to?
  2. Paste what you were sent. Badia reads the link or the numbers.
  3. Tap Go there: an arrow points the way, with the distance and how long.

Coordinates, any format

Decimal, degrees-minutes or degrees-minutes-seconds — pasted or typed, never confused.

  1. Where to? → Type coordinates.
  2. Paste anything and Badia says what it read, or type it in the boxes for your format.
  3. Every format is shown underneath — tap one to copy.

Routes

A list of points driven one after another — a weekend plan, or a rally’s checkpoints.

  1. Where to? → Routes → New route.
  2. Paste the whole list as you got it, or import a GPX. Names, numbering and mixed formats are fine.
  3. Tap Start. Reach a point and it’s timed, the next one is called out, and the arrow moves on.
  4. Share the route as a list for WhatsApp or a GPX file — and the time sheet afterwards.

Back the way you came

Follow your own tracks back to where you started.

  1. While recording, open Where to? → Back the way you came.
  2. For an older drive: open it → … → Backtrack.

My position

Exactly where you are, in every format — including UTM and MGRS for rescue.

  1. On the map, tap the GPS line in the speed panel.
  2. Tap a format to copy it. Standing still, take a precise fix: 30 seconds averaged.
  3. Share it as a Google, Apple or Waze link.

Follow me

A link whoever’s waiting can open in any browser to watch you drive — no app, no account.

  1. On Home, tap Follow me. (Or on the map: the GPS line → Share where you are → Live, as you drive.)
  2. Pick how long — 2 hours to all day — and tap Start sharing. Send the link.
  3. They see you move, your speed and your battery. Tap Stop sharing and the link goes blank straight away.

Waypoints

Save a camp, a recovery spot, soft sand or the exit to the road.

  1. On the map, tap the pin button to drop one where you are, or long-press the map anywhere.
  2. My drives → Waypoints to see, rename, share or navigate to them.

Compass

A big compass with the bearing to where you’re going.

  1. On the map, tap the heading in the speed panel.

Map layers

Satellite, hybrid, terrain or roads — and which drives show on the map.

  1. On the map, tap the layers button.
  2. Pick drives to show as faint lines, with their name, date and who sent them.

Offline maps

The map keeps working with no signal.

  1. Before you leave signal: map layers → Download this area — around you, or one of the usual driving areas.
  2. For a route or a saved drive: … → Download the map along it.
  3. Keep Badia open to finish faster. It picks up again if it stops.

Your drives

Every drive recorded, kept, and worth showing off.

Record a drive

Your track, distance, driving time and every stop — even with the screen off.

  1. On the map, tap Record this drive. It pauses itself when you park.
  2. Your drive is on the Dynamic Island and lock screen while it records.
  3. Tap the square to finish and name it. Forget, and Badia reminds you.

My drives

Every drive with its stats, stops and a replay.

  1. On the map, tap the drives button.
  2. Open a drive for distance, driving time, stops, top speed and climb.
  3. Trim a slow start or the drive home: … → Trim the start or end.

Share card

A picture or a video of your drive, made for Instagram and WhatsApp status.

  1. Open a drive → Share → Share card.
  2. Pick Picture or Video, Story or Post, then Share.

Send and import drives

Swap drives with members, or bring one in from any GPS app.

  1. Open a drive → Share → Send to a member. It lands in their drives with your name on it.
  2. Got a GPX on WhatsApp? Open it and choose Badia. Or My drives → Import a drive.
